Six Sassy Sistas

Have you heard of Six Sassy Sistas Skin serum?
This may be my new favorite thing.

I had the chance to try some of this serum out for free, in exchange for my unbiased review.

The two scents I tried were: It Doesn't Hurt to Be a Lady Ooey Gooey Caramel and Happy Girls are the Prettiest Lemon-licious. I couldn't decide which I wanted to try first so I currently have the caramel on my arm and lemon on my leg.

If you go to their website, they list several uses for this serum. You can use it to shave, for makeup remover, to hydrate your skin, among other things. They also offer several different scents.

To try it out, i just sprayed it on my skin and rubbed it in for moisture. My skin feels incredibly soft. (And smells amazing!) I can't wait to try it as a makeup remover! I'm also very excited about the ingredients in this: I can pronounce them all! No weird scientific words.

If you're waiting for me to say something negative about it,  here it is. The only bad thing? The fact that I can't decide which scent to order so I may have to order several!

Kleem Organics Vitamin C Serum

Now that I am 32, I have been very paranoid about getting wrinkles. Honestly, right now I dont really have any. Most people assume that I am quite a bit younger than I am. Right now, that is very annoying. However, I know that in a few years, I will appreciate that. So I want to get a head start on keeping those wrinkles away!

I recently had a chance to test the Pure Organic Vitamin C Serum by Kleem Organics.

This serum is supposed to:
- lighten dark spots
- moisturize
- reduce fine lines & wrinkles
- brighten complexion
- smooth out skin texture

After one use, I definitely noticed my skin seemed brighter! As I mentioned, I really don't have the other issues yet so I can't personally say whether it helps those. The reviews I have read about it are positive though! I am a huge fan of this product and have already recommended it to a few people. So if you are looking for an anti-aging product, give this a try!

Ps: I love the orange scent! Its very refreshing.

Ipsy - July GlamBag

Have you heard of Ipsy? Its a $10/month subscription box. The best part about Ipsy versus other ones is that it comes with a makeup bag. (I reviewed my June one last month, if you would like to look back at that post!)

In my July GlamBag, I received:
*Cool Way Beach Spray
*Jelly Pong Pong 2in1 Eyeshadow/Eyeliner
*Be a Bombshell Lip Balm
*Aurora Gel Effect Nail Polish
*Pur-lisse Pur-bright Ultra Skin Brightening Serum

This month's makeup bag is my favorite so far!

Cool Way Beach Spray
This was my favorite item this month. My hair is stick-straight. I use beach sprays all the time for volume, but they don't give me waves because I don't have any to accentuate. This one actually gave me a slight wave! Also, it didn't feel gunky, like others I have used. I will definitely be purchasing this brand.... After I use up the 3 bottles I just bought of my regular kind.

Jelly Pong Pong 2in1 Eyeshadow/Eyeliner
At first, I wasn't sure about the shade. I don't usually wear browns because it doesn't look like I am wearing makeup on my deep-set eyes. However, this one was dark enough that I could tell it was there, without being TOO dark. It went on smooth and stayed all day. I didn't really like it as eyeliner though. It stayed on all day, but I prefer to just wear black eyeliner. That's just a personal preference, nothing against the product.

Be a Bombshell Lip Balm
The shade I received was called French Kiss, which was a light pink. Putting it on, I didn't notice a difference in my lip color. (My sister's lips are a different natural shade than mine and it didn't change her lip color either.) That's not necessarily a bad thing. I actually don't like tinted lip balm anyway. But if you do, you may be disappointed in this shade. As strictly a lip balm, I loved it. My lips felt smooth, not even a hint of waxiness.

Aurora Gel Effect Nail Polish
I don't think this lasted any longer than my other polishes. However, I love the color! Its very summery. I have a nail polish addiction, so was excited to find this in my GlamBag.

Pur-lisse Pur-bright Ultra Skin Brightening Serum
This serum went through the ultimate test. We were going through a very stressful time, and I hadn't gotten much sleep. I used this serum under my makeup and it made me look more awake. As we all know, the better we look, the better we feel. I will definitely keep this on my beauty must-have list.

Do u have ipsy? What did you get in your July GlamBag?

Giosport Running Belt

Let's change things up a bit. Usually I blog about beauty stuff but today I want to tell you about the Giosport Running Belt.

First off, I don't run.  However, I've been attempting to take more initiative to get out and go walking. One of my complaints about walking is where to put my phone. I absolutely have to have my music going (and my MapMyWalk app!).

In the past, I have carried a small cross-body purse but that annoyed me. I've even tried just carrying it. I don't have pockets in my "walking pants", and am worried about getting moisture damage from my phone if I sweat. I have considered getting a fanny pack, but honestly I can't get past my hang-up about that being a horrible fashion trend from my childhood. Enter the Giosport Running Belt.

Honestly, this is a fanny pack. However, the thin-ness of it somehow makes it ok.

Giosport warns that phones with bulky cases will not fit. I have a case on my Samsung Note 4 (if you don't know, the note 4 is huge!) and it fit. I couldn't zip it and it was pretty tight, but it was in all the way. Without the case, it fit perfectly. My husband has a galaxy s3 and it fit easily, with the case. Its worth noting that neither of our cases are Otterboxes or other big protective cases, just normal ones.

Want to know my favorite part of the running belt? Look at the top picture again. See that little round black thing on the top left? That's where you can feed your head phones through!

Radha Lavender Essential Oil

Lately I have been obsessed with essential oils. Like crazy obsessed - but don't really know much about them.

Luckily, I was given the opportunity to review Lavender Essential Oil from Radha Beauty. It is 100% pure & natural. This came in a 4 oz bottle (with a dropper!), so I am stocked up for a little while!

Lavender oil is known to promote relaxation. Many people use it for headaches, as well.  Several people I know swear by it.

I have been hesitant to try it, simply because I don't like the smell. However, when the chance to review it came up, I jumped on it!  (Btw this one smells good,  not like the stinky lavender-scented lotion at the store!)

While waiting for the product in the mail, I spent a few days browsing online to get ideas what to do with it.

The first thing I decided to try is a detox bath. This calls for epsom salt, baking soda, & lavender oil..... Then I realized I was out of baking soda. No worries. I just used epsom salt and lavender oil. I don't know if it detoxed as well without the baking soda, but it was the most relaxing bath I've ever had. I was very stressed the day I did this, and after my bath, I felt a lot less tense. Not to mention, I slept amazingly!

Now a word of caution.
The oil soaks into your skin, which means: so does the scent! My husband said I smelled very strongly of lavender. In fact, he said he could smell me before I entered the room. (Good thing he likes the smell of lavender!) I was a little worried about this because, as a hairstylist, I have to stand very close to my clients. Luckily, the next day at work, my co-worker said she couldn't smell it when she was standing next to me. (Although she could smell it when I made her sniff my arm, so I wouldn't wear perfume the next day unless it mixes well with lavender! )

What are some ways you use lavender oil? I'd love to hear your ideas!

3D Fiber Lash Mascara by Mia Adora

I can not tell you how excited I was when I found out I was chosen to review 3D Fiber Lash Mascara!

Check out this cool box it comes in! I know, I know, I get excited easily....

First let me show you a pic of one eye using this and one eye using my regular mascara so you can make your own opinion, without my influence.

Let me tell you a little about the 3D Fiber Mascara, then I will let you know which eye is which. Hopefully that will give you time decide which one you think looks better.

There's 3 steps to using this:
1. Apply the magnifying gel 15-20 strokes
2. Apply the fibers 15-20 strokes
3. Wait for the fibers to dry for approximately 20 seconds, then apply the magnifying gel again for 15-20 strokes.

When I first read the instructions, I thought it seemed like a lot of work. Especially in the mornings when I'm half asleep. But its really not. Honestly, I use just as many (or more!) strokes with my regular mascara, I've just never counted them until now!

Lets look at that picture again:

#1 is the 3D Fiber Lash Mascara by Mia Adora
#2 is my regular mascara (Flower Volumizing Mascara)

I sent this picture to several people to get their opinion. Most couldn't tell much difference. The ones that could, thought that #2 looked slightly better, but not enough that they would notice if I hadn't asked them to choose.

My opinion:  I think that #2 looks longer but the 3D fiber looks thicker. But I agree, there's not much difference

So would I buy it? Probably.

And here's why:

Even though there's not much difference in the way it looks, it feels better. My lashes still felt soft, while usually mascara makes them feel crunchy.

Another reason, this is waterproof. My normal mascara is not. (I found out the hard way when I fell asleep with it on. Woke up crying from a dream to find my face and pillow covered in mascara.) You may ask why I don't just use another waterproof mascara. Because I haven't found one I like. And finding the perfect mascara is serious business.

Oh!  Here's a pic of one eye with the 3D Fiber and one with nothing. You can definitely tell a difference in these!

Ps every time I do it, it looks better!
